Dr. Lynn Sams Luce

Dr. Lynn Sams Luce is Artistic Director and Conductor of Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, a Music Education Consultant for the Cayman Islands, and an Adjunct Professor of NSU’s Interdisciplinary Arts Program. She is former organist of the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale, Music Director of the Fort Lauderdale Summer Music Institute, and Past International President of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association. She has served as Resident Conductor of the Palm Beach Symphony, Chair of the Music Department of Macon College (GA) and as faculty member at colleges in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. She has been a first place winner for organ performance and conducting competitions in the U.S. and Europe, and has won numerous academic awards. Luce was Dean of the American Guild of Organists in Georgia, and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the music honor society. She received a Masters degree in organ & conducting from Westminster Choir College, where she graduated ‘with distinction.’ She received the DMA degree from the University of Miami, where she received the Academic Achievement Award. Her dissertation was entered in the national dissertation competition by Dr. David Boyle. Conducting teachers have included Gary Green, Thomas Sleeper, Joseph Flummerfelt, and Lazlo Heltay (Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields).
